Year Ahead Spread

Welcome to 2025! I woke up this morning and decided I wanted to do a tarot reading something I rarely do in the new year. I created this spread.

This spread is best done using a “mini” deck, you could substitute tarot for oracle cards or lenormand. Remember though that lenormand is best read in pairs.

Let’s go through the spread and the positional meanings.

After shuffling your deck lay down 14 cards. You can have them face down until you get to that month or lay them upright as you put the cards down. Each card is the overall theme of that month.

My 2025 Year Ahead Spread

I see that my overall theme is the six of cups which tells me that I’ll be thinking a lot about the past and how things used to be. I get that my message from my guides this year is that I need to watch my attitude how I interact with everyone. Not everything is a battle, and that if I have the wrong attitude this year that people may automatically think the worst of my intentions.

January The Hanged Man – the beginning of the year I’ll be spending time going within and planning out the year ahead. I will most likely not be spending a great amount of time with other people. This inner time is needed because of what is to come.

February Five of Pentacles – this month I will be feeling left out and looking for some kind of solace somewhere, it does look like there will be someone walking along side me and that it won’t be something I have to go at alone.

March Five of Cups – Definitely this month I’ll be in my ‘feels’ and thinking of all the things that are going wrong in my life. Depression may sneak up in this month.

April Four of Cups – after the hard time in March there will be an opportunity for change but I may be so focused on what is going wrong or had went wrong in march that I may not jump on the opportunities being presented for me.

May Eight of Swords – Again, whatever I go through this month will be something of my own making. Definitely feeling sorry for myself and not being able to move forward not because the opportunities aren’t there but because I am not taking the ones provided for me because I am too busy feeling sorry for myself.

June King of Swords – I see this as a reprieve for the hard time, because I am a Gemini I see the king of swords as me being able to finally master my inner dialog and mind. I should be able to move forward this month.

July Nine of Swords – I think that with every step forward sometimes you have to take a step back and this month will be that small step back into the hard times, yet this is something that won’t last long and maybe it is “just a bad dream.”

August Justice -This month will be a month of reaping what has been sown, or that is how I see the justice card in the tarot, whatever you have put into the universe is what is being given back to you, Karma.

September The World – Everything comes full circle and things will be a lot better than they were. Nothing bad last forever and this will be the ending of whatever storms I had gone through thus far, and according to the reading so far there was some storms in the beginning of the year.

October The Lovers – while I do not always read the lovers as a new love coming into my life, I see this more along the lines of me loving where I am and what I am currently able to provide myself and those around me.

November The Star – this is the best month of the year and wishes and opportunities will be presented, great things are coming and it’s right around the corner.

December Page of Pentacles – The page of pentacles comes to bring new opportunities, great things are coming!

This is just a start to the reading; these cards can be warnings or signposts of things to watch out for or in some cases causes for celebration! What does this near year bring for you?
